Mt. Vernon Baptist Church

 

We know that your children are important to you and we strive to have one of the best children’s programs in the area. Our main children’s ministry revolves around seeing children taught at an early age the fundamental truths found within biblical priniciples. We use a variety of programs that are fun, exciting, and sure to keep your kids growing in truth!

On Sunday mornings there is Summit Kids, which is a worship service designed for children K-6th grade. They have their own time of worship and teaching. We use a curriculum that will ensure your child goes through the entire biblical story from start to finish!

Every Wednesday night at 6:00pm we have Base Camp Kids! It’s a program for children PreK-6th grade that involves games, crafts, worship, and teaching. This is a program that will grow your child, and teach him or her about Jesus.

Sunday night during Life Groups is our KidzPraise program led by our worship leader and members of the praise team.  Children are taught how to play certain instruments and vocals, but there is also a curriculum that ties it altogether as well.

 

The High School student ministry at Mt. Vernon has one main theme and that’s Full Throttle. It’s based off of Philippians 3:14 where Paul describes how we press towards the upward call of Christ Jesus. Well, we’re trying to do that full throttle. It is for anyone grades 9-12 and start at 6:00pm on Wednesday nights.

Our new Jr. High Ministry is called AMPED, which stands for A Ministry Preparing Empowered Disciples. It meets at the same time on Wednesday nights and is for anyone grades 6-8.

Sunday nights at 5:30pm we have a Life Group at Brother Mike’s house, which includes anyone 7-12 grade. Full Throttle and AMPED are where youth can come, hang out, drink a coke, and learn foundational principles that will guide them through every stage of life.

 

Life Groups are a vital part of church ministry and Christian discipleship at Mt Vernon Baptist Church. Groups are made up of people of all ages that meet at the church, in homes or in many cases BOTH!  Click here to find out more.
